Go-to-market checklist
Superteam, media, pre-commits, and launch-week cadence — from two weeks out to live.
Permissionless does not mean invisible. The mechanism protects the money; distribution is still your job — and it starts months out, not launch week. Parse this top to bottom and tick boxes as you go.
Months to weeks before launch
- Take care of the basics — build the business. A functional website that conveys the vision, a demo, MVP or (ideally) a fully working app people can use, and docs they can read to go deeper. Keep an X handle relevant to the business, a professional LinkedIn, and an up-to-date pitch deck.
- Build a community. Your community is your revenue stream, your testers, your best advertisers — and for those reasons the people you want contributing and owning the business. Your target demo might not be on Solana twitter: they might be in gaming forums, on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, or at IRL events. Find them, nerd-snipe them, sell them on what you're building. Host competitions or public demos if it fits. If you already have a community, start prepping them for the raise.
- Court pre-commits early: users, angels, venture capital, liquid funds. This is where the >50% number gets built — don't leave it to launch week.
- Contact your regional Superteam and every connection you have. Tell them you're raising and ask for whatever they can give — capital, distribution, media, intros. Don't be afraid to ask people you don't know; the worst they can do is say no.
- Build a public face. Reach out to Ownership Media, MCG Live, or any relevant outlet to book appearances. Cut clips from those hits and post them. Keep X active and interact with the Backable handle — they often interact back.
- Jump into competitions and public engagements: hackathons, an Ownership Roadshow, attending (or presenting at) a Solana conference. Huge swaths of potential users and contributors, plus a resume boost backers can verify.
- Send Backable a blurb and an up-to-date deck with your launch date and raise amount, via Telegram (tg.metadao.fi).
Long-form pitch on X
Your Backable page freezes at publish — that is the record backers commit against. An X thread is the distributable version: you can update it, reply in-thread, and keep arguing. Recommended structure: (1) one-line problem, (2) what is live today with a link, (3) the deal in three numbers (goal, price, monthly budget), (4) your own risk case in two sentences, (5) link back to the raise. Add the thread URL under Team & Links as "Full pitch on X" so the raise page chips it at the top.
One week before launch
- Initialize the raise on Backable. Create the paid draft by about T−6 days so MetaLeX, domain verification, and review are not a launch-day scramble — then finish create (entity + domain verify + Submit) so the raise is queued.
- Formally announce the ICO with an article that introduces the project and team (credentials and awards), explains the raise goals, and gives a tokenomics breakdown, monthly milestones, and revenue projections. Ordr's announcement is the reference: x.com/ordrtrade/…. Tag the Backable handle so the team sees it.
- You do not need to keep the launch secret before this post. It's the formal announcement with everything a contributor might want to know — meant to generate momentum going in.
- Leverage every connection — Superteam, KOLs, angels — to amplify the announcement as far as it will go. Backable will RT the article, post a branded graphic of the following week's raises, and share in the MetaDAO community channel.
Inside one week until launch
- Be everywhere. Keep the X handle active, chop it up in the MetaDAO community chat on Telegram, and personally reach out to anyone who might support you. Make sure everyone knows the date and time of the raise.
- Post a strong product video — visually appealing, explains the project, has some viral potential. Thursday before a Monday launch works best; Backable will amplify. Ryvo's example: x.com/ryvonetwork/….
- Make the media rounds — Ownership Radio, MCG Live, or any other relevant outlet — and post the clips on X.
- Continue courting pre-commits. The window opening should be a formality, not a hope.
24 hours prior to launch
- Backable posts a 24-hour warning encouraging early commits.
Launch day
- Post a graphic or video announcing the raise is live, with a direct link to your Backable page — on X and any other social channel where your community lives. Use every connection to amplify it.
- Get your angels and team members (contributing personally) in right away. Early commits generate the momentum and FOMO that pull the rest of the room in — a raise at 40% in hour one reads very differently from one at 4%.
