# PROPOSAL #002: Transfer $1,000 to Sponsor Solana Hackathon

**Proposer:** Spark team

## Context

$PREDICT has built prediction market infrastructure on Solana: the pm-AMM, an automated market maker designed specifically for outcome tokens.

Infrastructure only matters if people build on it. The next step is getting the pm-AMM into the hands of builders and encouraging new projects to integrate it.

The Solana Foundation is running a [Perps and Prediction Markets Hackathon](https://hackathons.solana.com/hackathons/perps-and-prediction-markets), featuring $100K in prizes, one week of building, and more than 200 builders already registered. Sponsors can add their own bounties on top of the main track.

The Spark team proposes using **$1,000 USDC from the $PREDICT treasury**, approximately 10% of the current treasury allocation, to sponsor a **$PREDICT bounty** for the best project built using the pm-AMM.

## The Bounty

- **Treasury spend:** $1,000 USDC, one time
- **Eligibility:** The project must integrate the $PREDICT pm-AMM as a core part of its product
- **Prize:** A $1,000 investment in the winning project, plus support from the Spark team to raise up to $25,000 on [Futard.io](https://futard.io/)
- **Judging:** By default, the Spark team will select the winner and allocate the $1,000 investment based on:
  - Depth of pm-AMM integration
  - Product quality
  - Potential to become a standalone project

If the hackathon rules allow it, the Spark team would prefer to select the winner jointly with a decision market, allowing $PREDICT holders to weigh in on which project the treasury backs.

### If No Submission Qualifies

If no submission meets the eligibility requirements, no winner will be selected and the **$1,000 USDC will remain in the treasury**.

## Why This Proposal

### 1. Increased Visibility

The bounty will be listed on the official Solana Foundation hackathon page, putting $PREDICT directly in front of teams building in the perps and prediction markets ecosystem.

This provides exposure to a relevant audience of builders who are actively looking for infrastructure and opportunities to integrate new protocols.

### 2. More Builders on the pm-AMM

Every eligible submission represents a potential new integration of the pm-AMM, tested and developed by teams outside the core $PREDICT team.

Even projects that do not win can generate:

- New integrations
- Technical feedback
- Example implementations
- Developer awareness
- Potential future contributors and users

### 3. A Path Beyond the Hackathon

The winning project does not only receive a $1,000 prize.

The Spark team will also support the winner in raising up to **$25,000 through [Futard.io](https://futard.io/)**.

A successful project built on the pm-AMM could create additional usage and volume for the $PREDICT ecosystem beyond the hackathon itself.

### 4. Capped Treasury Cost

The proposal limits treasury spending to **$1,000 USDC**, spent once.

If there is no qualifying submission, the funds remain in the treasury and are not distributed.

## Take Part

This is a **futarchy proposal**, so there is no traditional ballot.

You express your view by trading the **pass and fail markets**. If the market values $PREDICT higher with the proposal than without it, the proposal passes and the bounty is funded on-chain.

## What This Proposal Does Not Change

- No new tokens are minted.
- No more than **$1,000 USDC** of treasury funds is spent.
- The existing monthly spending limit remains unchanged.
